Coach building has a long history that stretches back over 100 years. In the early motoring days, when series production did not yet exist, the process of buying a new vehicle involved the purchase of a chassis. After that, the customer would would seek out a "carrozzeria" or coach builder and request a personal body design to be fitted on the chassis.
Coach building has always been synonymous with elegance, quality, and technical innovation. Midwest Coachworks offers quality, traditional values, and the technical know how to bring your classic car or project's vision to reality.
Midwest Coachworks began as a small hot rod shop specializing in classic vehicles. We had one bay big enough for 2 cars and a dream. Very quickly the shop evolved and started offering standard maintenance such as oil changes and tune ups. As we continued to grow, we added a lift, paint booth, and the Cosmichrome spray chrome system. The shop has grown in size and has expanded even more with housing space for more vehicles, a tire machine and balancer, and a paint room with full mixing station. All of us are veterans who have transitioned our desire for service to your vehicles. Midwest Coachworks has now transitioned to a full service body shop and repair services. Anything from insurance collision repair to full frame off restorations, Midwest Coachworks is your one stop shop. Already certified in many areas, we are still growing fast!
